I would like to thank our village maintenance guys for promptly picking up the brush I left near the curb in front of my house a couple of times during the past few days. The brush removal service they do is outstanding in my book.

I think they are short handed at the moment also.
Snow plowing streets is not the gravy job many claim it is. Always the worst hours, long shifts and equipment breakdowns. I've been plowing for the county for a few years and can speak from expierence. When I was in the maintenance division I driving 16 hours straight on a loop around Roundbottom Rd, Broadwell Rd, YWCA Rd, Mt. Carmel Rd, Little Dry Run, Bridle Rd, Lawyer Rd and Newtown Rd and then back to the start again. At least it gave the kids who live around YMCA time to reload with ice chunks and snow balls (sometimes with rocks in the middle) for my next trip through. |
